November 20

RCS/RI are happy to announce that their KS-10 CPU (the DECSYSTEM-2020) has begun its path back to health. The machine powered up successfully and the technicians were able to verify the functionality of the memory and KS-10 busses as well as the integrity of some of the mainstore and control RAM.

September 25

RCS/RI are proud to announce the acquisition of a DECSYSTEM-2065, a Digital Equipment Corporation KS10, an IBM System/36, model 5362, and an IBM 9-track tape drive for the larger model 5360. Thanks go to John Wilson of DBit for the pdp-10's and to Matty Scher Auto Parts for the System/36. The DEC pdp-10 machines will be featured at the RCS/RI November open house.

September 22

We received a donation of some CAD/CAM systems. One is a Data General Desktop Generation 10. Another is an OEM machine built on Hewlett Packard hardware. There is also a Houston Instruments multi-pen plotter.

September 18

At today's open house we did an IPL and ran the System Support Program (SSP) on the other small IBM 5363. We attached a few display terminals and a small printer, and had the system online for most of the day.

September 7

We have received a complete TI System 1500 with external drives, media and documentation. It runs AT&T Unix, System V Release 3.

August 30

We just received an IBM Application Server/Entry 5363 III (a small System /36) with a few InfoWindow 3477 terminals. We already have one such system and some InfoWindow II 3488-V terminals. We should be able to get one of these systems online before the next open house.

August 21

At this month's open house, we were able to get one of the PDP-8/e systems online and working. The system is complete, and most of the hardware has been verified as operational. Peripherals include a RTC and a RK8E disk controller. This will become a timesharing -8 in the future.

We are still missing the programmer's console for the PDP-8/a which prevents use from proceeding with those systems. If you know where a console may be located please contact us.

June 14

We'll be holding a special Open Night on the evening of Tuesday, June 14th from 4:30pm - 10:00pm at our facility in Providence. Drop by and see our working PDP-12. An annoucement of this event appears in the DECUS newsletter which is available via the web in Postscript format.
