2001 RCS/RI

RCS/RI is hosting an Ultrix freeware archive. Visit http://starfish.rcsri.org/ultrix to download GNU software packages for the MIPS architecture. Thanks to Bert DeKnuydt for making these packages available.
A selection of the RCS/RI collection representing computer history from the 1950's to the 1980's was displayed in the Industrial Design Gallery at the Rhode Island School of Design.
The DECsystem 1090 donation included a collection of original distribution tapes for Digital Equipment Corporation's TOPS-10 operating system. Tape image copies of these are available at the TOPS-10 Software Archive.
Thanks to the generosity of Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation RCS/RI has received a DECsystem 1090. It was used as a real-time control system for helicopter simulation in the Sikorsky PDP-10 Hybrid Computer Facility.
RCS/RI displayed a variety of its collection at the Vintage Computer Festival East 1.0 in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Included in the exibit: a Univac 1701 card punch, a DEC PDP-12/30 minicomputer and a Symbolics 3640 LISP workstation. There were demonstrations of these in operation for VCF attendees.
