The LAB-K is not a general-purpose computer, but a special purpose
programmable logic controller designed for realtime laboratory experiment
control and data collection in life sciences research.
It is programmed via a patch panel on the side of
the cabinet. The numeric display on the front of the cabinet
is composed of nixie tubes.
