Library

The RCS considers documentation related to historic computers to be just as important as the physical machines themselves. Here are a few interesting pieces from our library collection, in a nicely readable format. Some of these relate to computers we have, some do not.

We have received documentation from many sources over the years, but we would like to thank Rochester University Center for Visual Science and Boston University in particular for making especially important contributions to our library. Also thanks to Green Penguin for the loan of the scanner.

1960s

Analog computers, Honeywell, LAB-K, LINC, Packard Bell, TX-2, Univac.

1970s

TOPS-10, PDP-11/40, Multics.

1980s

Cray, Lisp Machines, Sun, SGI, Thinking Machines, Boston University VPS.
